I am a student in your Cases in Corrections class that meets on T,R and I was browsing through your website and I have to admit that it is very impressive. After having said that, I was wondering if you have any updated information on the Lionel Tate case. I was very distraught about the entire case and the outcome. So when I try to search for some new information, I just recieve the same old articles and I was wondering if you knew of a reference where I can find updated info on cases. Also, I am really looking forward to the knowlegde that i will gain from this course.

I just got off the phone with Steven Whitsett-wanted to know if something was being done to declare the Jimmy Ryce act void. I haven't been able to find anything about it. I can forward mail to Steven about others being held unfairly. He won his Jimmy Ryce trial in May, but still in solitary confinement at Martin County Jail over his alledged escape. His road is a long one. He is has still not seen a judge in his case and no lawyer wants to handle his case. Would love to have some other peoples opinions and input. Thanks, Laura Stevenson
